Q. What is Grow Fit's Pizza Base?
Bake perfect light and airy pizza, with natural wood-fired aroma using our pizza base. It is perfect for baking Italian pizzas within the comfort of your home. All though pizza bases are readily available everywhere, fresh taste and texture is something that's missing. We try our best to replicate the authentic flavor ! The unique flavor of our pizzas derives from a combination of the traditional recipe and the innovative fortification with finger millet flour that is ready to eat with all its flavors and aromas.
Q. How is it made?
All we used is a classic list of ingredients which are our pantry staples. Made using a combination of all-purpose flour and finger millet flour which is used as a base for the dough, yeast and sugar acts as the fermentation agent. Yeast will bloom faster if it has sugar. Our pizza base is entirely handcrafted by our bakers following ancient art of pizza making: after undergoing a lengthy period of leavening the dough is kneaded and rolled by hand and baked at moderate temperature (190oC) for 20 minutes.
Q. How to use?
- Using the back of a spoon spread pizza sauce thinly leaving 1/2 inch from the border on all slides. Top with your favorite toppings, like roasted vegetables and cheese for savory. For a sweet dish, you can choose chocolate spreads or fruits as well.
- Bake it at 180 degree centigrade for 10-12 minutes or bake in a convection microwave for 3 minutes or take a nonstick tawa/pan and heat it on a gas stove at low flame. Place the pizzas. Cover it with a lid. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Carefully remove the baked pizza and serve it hot.
Q. Why should I buy it?
Fermentation is the chemical breakdown of carbohydrate and sugar naturally found in grain flour by yeast to carbon dioxide causing gas bubbles to form, which has a leavening effect on dough.
In our baking process we spend enough hours proofing the dough. This allows fermentation to occur and some of the gluten to be broken down. In return it makes it easier for your body to digest.
Q. Why should I make the switch?
Our pizza base is prepared using finger millet flour. It is a good source of protein, with minimal fat. It has barely any sugar and has calcium. It does not contain preservatives and chemicals as opposed to store-bought ones. Pizza bases found in grocery stores are generally prepared using 100% all purpose flour and are loaded with way too many chemicals in order to increase their shelf life.

Q. Does it contain sugar?
Our Pizza dough is fermented using yeast which needs some sugar. Sugar balances the bitterness produced during the fermentation process and lends a sweet taste to the finished product. And of course we make sure that added sugar is within its limits so you get a low sugar product.
Q. Does it contain wheat?
Yes. Our Pizza Base is made with all purpose flour, has a finer, lighter texture and usually has a longer shelf life.
Q. What is gluten?
Gluten is a combination of natural proteins found in wheat. They are the real workhorse of the world’s most famous bread and pastries. Gluten is essential to the bread making process as it helps bread maintain its shape and flavor.
Q. Should I avoid gluten?
If you have Celiac's disease or some other autoimmune disorder, yes you should avoid gluten. If you don't have an autoimmune disorder you should be just fine consuming gluten.
Q. Can we freeze it?
Yes, you can definitely freeze our Pizza Base up to 3 months and keep it good for later. Need to thaw your pizza base? Just stick it in the fridge overnight, and it’s good to go!
